Kennywood is a traditional amusement park near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  One of only two amusement parks listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Kennywood also is one of the few amusement parks that still allow guests to bring their own picnic lunch, and is alcohol-free.  The 92 acre park features 46 rides and attractions including 6 roller coasters.  Locals visit the park for school and work picnics every season.  Kennywood is owned by Kennywood Entertainment, which until December 2007 was a closely held family business owned by the Henninger and McSwigan families. Kennywood Entertainment is now a subsidiary of Parques Reunidos, an international amusement park company based in Madrid, Spain.

Six Flags America

Six Flags America is a 131 acre theme park located in Largo, Maryland. The park is located 15 miles east of Washington D.C.  Six Flags America features 51 rides and attractions, including 7 roller coasters, 4 water rides, as well as a large water park. The star attraction is the Superman: Ride of Steel hyper-coaster, which reaches a top speed of 73 mph going down a 205 ft. drop.  There are also many shows, food stands, games, and beautiful shaded areas for guests to enjoy.

Cedar Point

Cedar Point is a 364 acre amusement park located in Sandusky, Ohio, on a narrow peninsula jutting into Lake Erie.  "America's RollerCoast" currently holds the world record for most roller coasters with 17, one of them being the world's second tallest and second fastest roller coaster, Top Thrill Dragster, which reaches speeds of 120 mph and a height of 420 feet.  Cedar Point has a total of 76 rides and attractions, the most at any park in the world. Besides the main park, Cedar Point also features a mile-long white sand beach, an outdoor water park , an indoor waterpark (which also includes a hotel service), two marinas, several hotels, and Challenge Park featuring attractions such as go-karts and miniature golf. Cedar Point is the flagship park for Cedar Fair Entertainment Company (which is headquartered at the park) and, along with Valleyfair, was one of the original parks in the company.

Darien Lake

Darien Lake is a theme park resort located between Buffalo and Rochester south of the New York State Thruway (I-90) on State Highway 77. The park features 7 roller coasters, a water park, many rides and attractions, as well as unique entertainment options.  The 360-acre resort is also home to a campground, hotel, and performing arts center, with the lake and amusement park nearby.  For guests seeking thrills, don't miss the Ride of Steel hyper-coaster with a 205 ft. drop.  Don't forget to end your day with the nightime spectacular known as LaserBlast.

DelGrosso's Amusement Park is a small amusement park in Tipton, Pennsylvania, near Altoona. The park features two steel roller coasters, several family rides, Kids Kingdom, a mini-golf course, go-kart track, and a water park.  The park is known for excellent food and a great family atmosphere.

The park has free admission, with the ability to purchase a ride-all-day or ride and slide-all-day pass, or purchase tickets for the individual rides and attractions.  There are multiple picnic groves in the park for families to enjoy a picnic.
